I decided to take control and email Boston USCIS about our biometrics date. Its better to get bees with honey, a doctor once told me, so I was sticky sweet with my approach :). But, it did get me a response! Our fingerprint date in December 2nd at 12noon in good ol' Lawrence. Much easier than heading into Boston though. After the fingerprint appointment, I only expect that it will take a week or two to get our final approval. At that time, we will finally be considered a "waiting family!" And, we can look and request information on waiting children. Doug and I have had our eyes on one little boy, and I really haven't told anyone, especially since he does have a medical condition. Before seriously considering any child, we would have his or her medical records reviewed by an international adoption specialist. There is one woman, Dr. Miller at Tufts Floating Hospital for Children, and then, of course, the "orphan doctor" in NYC. When the time comes, I will probably rely on other families from WHFC for their advice.
