Signed, Sealed, Paperwork Delivered....He's Almost Ours!

Ok, so that was yesterday. Doug and I headed to the bank first thing in the morning to get our final bank check, and have a few more pieces of paperwork notarized. When we arrived home, we had received the last piece of information that we needed from WHFC before moving forward. I hand delivered our packet to WH yesterday afternoon (the beauty of choosing an agency close by), and by the end of the day, we received our official referral packet. Then, our internet went down....which left me to do nothing but clean and organize. I finally removed all of "me" from baby boy's room...every last bit of it. The rest is all his. The crib may even arrive next week, along with all of the bedding I ordered. Somebody better stop me, 'cause today I went to Babies R Us and bought a jumparoo thingamajig and a car seat (researched before I purchased). I then met Dawn and two of her three boys for lunch. She gave me an idea on the "must haves" for babies and the things she could have done without.

Back to the internet. It finally came back on very late last night, which meant I was up til almost 2am reading the packets of information....including a few more government forms, and information on how to obtain our travel visas. Information overload! Doug spent part of the day cropping and color correcting pictures for his baby album that needs to be sent to Ethiopia within the next week. And, by this time next week, we may have more pictures of baby boy, thanks to a woman who is traveling tomorrow to pick up her son. Doug and I sent her a permission note so that she could take pictures of him for us. It will be so nice to have pictures other than the one referral photo we have (the same picture is on Christmas trees across Massachusetts, in my office, in my pocketbook, on our mantle, and in Doug's office, in my Mom's, brother's, Dad's and in-laws house)!!

  1. Please share the "must haves" list! I'm at a loss for my 8 month old girl. You are definitely lucky about getting new pictures. We have been staring at the same two pictures for over a month now! Congrats on passing in the acceptance paperwork! It was a surreal feeling dropping off the acceptance packet at the office.
