Oh Happy Day....

I have been sitting at my computer all morning, reading papers, and just watching the snow fall. We probably got 8 inches or so, school was cancelled, and Doug was outside with the snowblower. My eyes have been glued to the window, which, of course, faces the mailbox. Our mailman usually comes around 11am, but because of the storm, he didn't drive on by til 2:30 or so. I saw him first, so I ran downstairs, grabbed a coat, put on my boots and walked over to the mailbox. I was really, really trying hard not to get my hopes up. But...there it was....looking ever so beautiful in the mailbox....our official letter! Yahoo! As of December 7th, we are officially on the "wait list" for a child between 0 to 42 months (they add in an extra 6 months, in case you get referred a 3 year old but then have to wait several months to travel)!! A very happy day indeed. Doug and I promised each other that we would go out to dinner the day we got our letter, but given the fact that the roads will probably freeze tonight, I will cook (yes, I do cook once in a while) and we will celebrate over the weekend. The best part for me is that I really wanted to get on the "list" in 2009, and we did!!!!
