Pictures, Pictures, Pictures

Now that the kids are sound asleep......Everything is still going well at home.  Biskut (pronounced Bis-koot) is a sweetie-pie.  I never thought I could love a little girl the way that I love her!  Muse (pronounced Moo-say) is definitely a 6 year old boy....full of energy.  We have started to see signs of grief with him, especially over the last 48 hours.  We haven't quite figured out the triggers, except for when he doesn't get his way right away.  His grief comes in the form of tears and a quiet moaning.  He doesn't exhibit a lot of anger, and he allows us to hold him during this time.  Our first visit from our social worker is tomorrow, and I hope she comes with a lot of helpful hints on how best to deal with these moments.  Doug and I were at our wits end by 5pm today!

I wanted to post some pictures tonight, from our first meeting to being at home.  Enjoy!!!

  3. I LOVE the pic of Biskut with the little green headband and jacket.. too cute. The one of the two kids passed out on the couch is also neat. I am curious about how you will handle school in the Fall. First grade is just SO demanding I wonder how kids can adapt that fast to the expectations. On another note, I will definitely be seeking you out for advice. Reading how you hope the "social worker" can give you good ideas.. made me go ugh.... Ummm I think I may need to look elsewhere...

  7. I have to add that you have the perfect backyard for kids. If I ever get my two, we are coming on a road trip to play in that backyard. ;-) Mine is a postage stamp.

  12. Not quite sure how I found your blog, but just checked in to see that you are home with your beautiful children. DH and I brought sib girls (3&6, now 4&7) home from ET 9/2009, so we have just a few months on you. I've also been a grief support group facilitator (i.e. doesn't make me an expert) for children for the last 10 years so if ever you wanted to "chat", just let me know.

Here's a link to our blog - I hope your transition continues to go smoothly - ours has been awesome and we feel very, very blessed.

  13. Welcome home, Amy! I've been offline and so am just catching up. But I've thought of you guys so often these past few weeks. I'm delighted to see the pictures and hear your updates! Your kids remind me soooo much of our two ... both the pictures and your descriptions of their personalities and likes/dislikes. I hope we can all meet in person some day soon.
