Yesterday was a very good day. Because it was my now "One Word Wednesday," I really couldn't post anything else :)...Sorry! But, yesterday we received 2 updated photos of baby boy, and a video that we couldn't open...yet....he looks so different already. Instead of a little man, he looks like a baby. A beautiful, healthy, baby boy. And today, we received the video clip that we could open! He was laughing and smiling. So beautiful. He is our miracle baby! He has survived so much already, which means he has to be a true fighter, and also means Doug and I are in big trouble in another 12 years or so :)))
We also found out that he requires a special formula, and I feel very fortunate that somebody is in Ethiopia now, and is able to provide us with these updates. I reached out to a few families, to see if I could send them some of the formula he needs. The families will be traveling later this month. The agreed, as did several other families. I feel so lucky to be a part of this extended, very special, WHFC family.
I did a little shopping last night too. I purchased all that we can possible bring for donations for the HH. Lots of baby stuff (crib sheets, clothes, OTC medicines, diapers, wipes, rash cream, baby bath, shampoo, oil, powder, etc., and then some fun stuff for the older kids house like sunglasses -- they love their sunglasses -- a couple nerf footballs, stickers, pens and pencils, etc.). It was fun to shop, but more fun knowing that we will be able to bring them items that they can't easily get in Ethiopia.
I sent a letter to the company that I work for last week, to see if they would provide me with children's toothpaste and toothbrush donations. Keeping my fingers crossed that they will approve the requested donations!
Lastly, Doug has been sick for almost 3 weeks. Men are babies when they are sick. Why is that? Ugh! I feel badly for him, but its just a cold now....he better get healthy soon, 'cause he is going to have a little boy to take care of! :)

The WHFC family is so, so great. I saw your request to take the formula on the email list... and I'm so glad that he'll be getting his formula soon! I'm sure those photos and the video mean the world to you.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations. My husband and I are on the WHFC wait list for an infant (waiting since Feb. '09). I was so happy to read that you will be bringing home a waiting child - I look at those precious faces every week - and I'm glad to know he's doing so well. Sorry for the anonymity - I don't have a blog.
